My Thoughts on Tua Tagovialoa

Image
Tua Tagovialoa , AKA "The Samoan Sniper"  is in his 6th year with the Miami Dolphins.  And man, it has been a roller coaster.    We drafted him 5th overall back in 2020, after Burrow was drafted and the pick before Herbert in what has been a historic draft for the NFL.  But up against the other QBs drafted in the 2020 draft, Tua doesn't quite stack up as well as the other franchise quarterbacks drafted with him. Tua was a heisman favorite in college, where he played for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Where he threw for 87 TDs and only 11 INTs, with 7,500 yards passing. Unfortunatley in his senior year, he came down with a brutal hip injury.  Causing his arm strength and mobility to significantly deminish compared to when he played at Alabama.     After being drafted, he wasn't quite up to par with the career journey man Ryan Fitzpatrick, who got the starting job Tua's rookie year.  Brian Flores , the coach at the time, clearly did not have co...

Forever Thankful for the Dan Marino Era

Image
FINS FEVER      Ladies and gentlemen, it's a thankful time of year.  And if there's one thing a Fin's fan is thankful for, Its Dan "The Man" Marino. Today, in South Beach, #13 is a number deeply connected with the city.  But if we travel back to 1983, it was just a Pittsburgh kid drafted into a hot and humid city.  Dan Marino had a successful career playing quarterback for the University of Pittsburgh, landing himself at the 27th pick of the 1983 draft by the Miami Dolphins.     The legendary coach, Don Shula was in his 20th year coaching for the Fins.  And he was determined to find the next star to replace Hall of Famer Bob Griese .  He found that man in Dan Marino .  Dan posted an immediate impact to the Miami Dolphins.  After sitting for a half, a season and showing huge promise in the second half, the 1994 season that Dan put up was actually legendary.       As a sophomore, he threw for 5,084 yards an...

Wait, are we... Back?

Image
Ladies and gentlemen, I don't even know how to begin this glorious blog post.  Well in reality, I do know how, we start with Sunday's here at Fin's Fever.  For the first time since 2023, the Miami Dolphins have won a game against the Buffalo Bills.     It wasn't just any regular win, we blew them out of the water.  30-13, a staggering win against a very intense, very dominant Buffalo Bill team.       Lets start with my king, De'von Achane ... A.K.A the A-Train.  In 22 carries, he ran for 174 yards and two touch downs.  Along with that, he caught 6 receptions for 51 yards.  A very solid day by one of the biggest bright spots on this Miami team.  If Achane can keep his pace, his career will be very bright.     Another guy I want to talk about came out from left field,  JuJu Brents .  This guy was drafted as the 44th pick in 2023 by the Colts.  After dealing with delibertati...

Losing, Tearing Down, and Rebuilding, Its Only Week Nine Folks.

Image
FINS FEVER             It's Monday, November 3rd.  Week 9 of the 2025-2026 NFL season just wrapped up.  And what a surprise, the Miami Dolphins lost again this week.  But rolling back the tape, the last time I left us off we we're coming off a terrible loss against the Cleveland Browns.  The next week, we actually did something with the 300 million dollars we are paying these players...  we won. Tua Tagovialoa . 20/26 on his passes,  200 yards, and 4 passing TDS.   It was an absolute show from the whole team.  And the best part, the Atlanta Falcons are actually a decent team, making this win feel even better.  This win gave me lots of hope for the future, I was thinking "maybe they can pull this season around, its only week 7"     But that hope, was false hope. Thursday night game, bright lights, we absolutely blew it.  We got blown out by the Baltimore Rav...

Its Over Before it even Finished

Image
Ladies and gentlemen, we are in the dark ages.  The dolphins are 1-6, rooted in mounting losses and diminishing returns. This week we got absolutely torched by the 1-5 Cleveland Browns . Tua completed 50% of his passes and threw 3 terrible picks This terrible performance was backed up by a previous catastrophe. A fall apart loss to the Panthers, up 17-0. The future of the Miami Dolphins? Rebuild.   Starting off, there is a couple must needs. Chris Grier , our general manager, needs to be fired.  Along with him, our head coach, Mike McDaniel needs to be fired.  Neither of their strategies have worked. Mike McDaniel has proven himself to not be a leader. And Chris Grier has proven over, and over, that he cannot draft, manage salaries, pickup competent talent, or manage a team like this Miami Dolphins team. When it comes to players. Tua Tagovialoa is the first man who comes to mind. Seeing that we are paying him 54 million dollars next year, it would be hard to...

Desperation, and Non-Stop Dispare - The Miami Dolphin 2025 Seaon.

Image
You read the title, nothing good has come out of the Dolphins season so far.  I am writing this two days after the most disappointing loss yet, a stunning comeback from 17-0 by the Carolina Panthers.  Mirroring our 2023 contest against them when we came back and won.        So far this season we have started 1-4, Tua has earned his nickname, Tua Turndaballova, throwing picks almost every game.  We have lost almost all help in the defensive backfield with standout Kader Kohou being on IR, along with 5 of our other CBs.       Before continuing the description of another dreadful Miami Dolphins season, there have been a few bright spots.   Darren. Waller.  This guy retired, started a rap career, divorced his wife, came back to football, and has been one of the best tight ends in the league.  Of course, De'von Achane is standing out as the future of this team, showing off his lightning-fast speed, and now this...

Welcome To Fins Fever, Home of the Miami Dolphins Faithful

There's something special about being a Miami Dolphins fan. From the sun-soaked sidelines of Hard Rock Stadium.  To the beautiful legacy of the only perfect season in NFL history, the Dolphins are more than just a football team; they're a culture, a community, and a tradition that runs deep.      This blog will mainly cover the 2025 season. We will be going week to week, highs and lows, stats and stars.  I've started this blog because the Miami Dolphins are a large part of my life.  My grandpa was           Bob Heinz , a defensive starter for both Miami Dolphins Super Bowl teams.        The Dolphins literally run in my blood.  So I would be amiss not to at least share my thoughts and opinions about my beloved team online      Every week, I plan to bring hard truths, in-depth facts, and underlying opinions on the Miami Dolphins...
